The Other Place

These are desperate times.

Our boots are kissing... heh.

Trying out a new place in town... The Other Place.  Not bad.

Sunday Funday

Trouble?  Well, for sure.  Best friends.

Momma went shopping and the boys got new hats.  I love the two photos up there and I truly was just trying to get a nice picture of my boys together when we went out for Sunday lunch at one of our favorite Sunday lunch spots... have been going there almost every Sunday since before Kekoa was born, in fact.  Anyway.  Fat chance.  That said.  This one is my favorite pictures.  It captures Kekoa just as he is... right now... at 10 and a half.  In full on laugh mode.  In it's purest form.

Have I mentioned I love my boys?  They make my world go 'round.  These two.

What a Way to Go

This is likely this tree's last fall.  It makes me sad.  When we moved here 17 years ago it was such a pretty young tree.  Then a couple of years ago, it just decided to die.  The few leaves it has left, though.  Wow.  They are on fire.  What a way to go.

#84 of #100gratefuldays:   Always extremely grateful this time of year for the street I live on.

And a rainy fall day might just call for an impromptu shopping trip to purchase a sweater dress I've been wanting since I saw it a couple of months ago.  Cute new clothes = Happy Lani Girl

Car Full of Magic

#66 of #100gratefuldays: Thankful for a new blingy ISU sweatshirt that fills my car full of magic on a sunshine day. Cold? What cold? Happy.

And this new Cyclone shirt.  Not to explain the obvious, but I'm still practicing with this new smart phone. This selfie business is not as easy as it looks! I think the secret is holding the camera straight... versus
angled?... and holding it as far away as possible. Anything else I'm missing? Are there classes for this stuff??!!

Ok... I might have spent a little more than what the gift card allotted.... shhhhh... don't tell.

And then my niece and nephews went and turned 14, 15, and 16.  ALL of them are driving now.  Ack.  It went warp speed.

Then Demolish Them

#65 of #100gratefuldays: Happy Friday morning! Wearing one of my favorites from a good friend... "Set some goals. Then demolish them." Thankful for Fridays.  Also.  I love clothes.  Wore leggings today.  It's beginning to feel a lot like fall.

Who Says You Can't Buy Happiness

#27 of #100gratefuldays: Look what I got in the mail! Big shout out thank you to my good friend, Sarah! Love you! *mwah* I headed to the gym this fine rainy morning instead of baking cookies to give these beautiful G-Loves a trial run. I heart Wonder Woman gloves.  They made me work harder.

In other news, you should NEVER, ever send me to a party supply store alone. Bought myself an early birthday present today. Look at his cute little booty. Whomever said you couldn't buy happiness is a liar.

And.  30 swimming laps today at the pool.  Three days in a row.  Uncle Darryl (a classmate of Craig's) is visiting.  I have some happy boys.

My Turn

#23 of #100grateful days:  My turn.  First day of school.  3rd & 4th grade. Unbelievable.  A  little happy.  A little sad.  Kekoa... he's moving on... took a shower on his own last night and has developed a penchant for Under Armour underwear.  *gulp*  $20 a pair??!!  Gavyn... he's pleased to be wearing his new Minion underwear.  3 for $6.99.   I want some Minion underwear!

Not Much Has Changed

#4 of #100grateful days: Thankful for running. You are my sunshine... my only sunshine... Momma's got a new pair of shoes!

I have a hard time keeping track of how old my shoes are and how many miles I put on them.  My others were looking pretty raggedy.  And I was starting to feel pains in my left heel.  Trying to avoid the horrors of plantar fasciitis.  Perfect reason to get new shoes.  Now... to heal up this blister...  someone gave me a helpful hint... gonna start writing the date I bought the new shoes somewhere on them so I avoid future running injury hazards.

National Siblings Day 2014

Throw Back Thursday AND National Siblings Day??!! Why not? First day of school. I can't believe how much my brother, Shawn, looks like Kekoa. And my brother, Ryan, looks a lot like Gavyn. I love how you can see the sunrise on the sides of our faces.  I  loved that pink jean jacket.  I wish I still had it.

Four More Sleeps

Each getting ready in our own little way. Four more sleeps.  Feeling overwhelmed.

A little somthn somthn made out of yoga mats for Momma to make her feet feel good when they aren't in the sand. Sanuks.  Ready!

Gavyn's charting it all out.  Carnivyle! Roadyo! Space Senter! Yaaaaaaaa!

Kekoa's travel journal. Started out as a way to record his appendectomy journey, but he's given up on that and decided to use it for his Texas trip instead.

Baby, It's Slick Outside

Baby, it's slick outside.  Heart rate up. Gym was closed when I got there, but I got to play act derby car. Pretty sure the owner of the van that passed me on the left in two left turning lanes as I tried to turn left (likely they couldn't stop and were trying to avoid hitting my back end?) either had to go home and change their pants or they have a really good story to tell at work today or both. I ended up facing the wrong way and playing bumper cars with the median. No damage, thankfully, and since no one was hurt, is it bad for me to say it was kind of fun?  Day two of training.  Feeling ready.  These may not be Nike's, but I'm kind of digging my new shoes.

No Brownie Points

Away from home for three days to learn how to be a personality type instructor for my job.  Made an early morning dash through the cold to a nearby gym before the day started.  Absolutely no brownie points for the guy this morning who referred me to the section with more "feminine" equipment. He's got two more days to get it figured out. I should have said, "Oh, is that where you workout?" Apparently he has never heard of Dana Linn Bailey.

Ride On

On my recent Bike Expo visit I scored some pretty sweet new gear.  And they had these cute little youth jerseys that I thought the boys would like.  I was right.  Here they are...giving me a proper send off as I leave for a training for week for three days.  I love that they still don't mind matching with their Momma.

I'm not even gone, and I already want to be back.

As Gavyn was once known to say, "I can't resist it."  Below are a few other Bike Expo things I couldn't resist.  A free High Trestle Trail water bottle and bike sandals (I just have to add the bike clips.).  I had to pay for the arm warmers.

Bring on warmer "biking" weather.  I can't wait to give them a go.

Uncle!

That's it.  I'm moving to Texas.  Unbelievable, this cold.  A high of -4?  With the crazy, crazy wind making windchill factor equal to -55?  Uncle!  Thank goodness, Aunt Heidi got us these Pooks to make winter seem a little more tolerable, somehow.  Winter's more fun when you can wear warm wool socks on your head.
