Gone Fishin'

The other day the boys combined all their fishing gear and got their tackle box all tricked out.  They are ready. "Kekoa and Gavyn Only"... "Fishing Stuff" "KaG!"

Apparently there is some capsizing anticipation... and then there is the S.S. Gavyn.... vs USS Gavyn, maybe?

Someone got into the boys fishing tackle box... next thing you know he'll be gone fishin'...

Helping Grandma

Helping Grandma decorate her tree.

And then helping Grandma put up the people in the village... he's been dying to do this for two days.

There's just something kind of cozy about Grandma's house at Christmas time.  I will admit to feeling a little emotional watching Kekoa and Grandma sprinkle snow on the village to the sound of Christmas music.  Appreciating this Christmas and remaining hopeful we have many more.

My Little Elf

Last year of holiday parties for this Momma. I will miss it.

That said, I think it's past time for a break from school for everyone.

Winter break means artwork comes home.  This makes a happy, Momma.

This is supposed to be an attempt at a Mona Lisa picture.  Kekoa's (on the left) kind of has a Beavis and Butthead feel to it.  A couple of classics, for sure.

Devil's In the Details

Pure Gavyn awesomeness. Who else thinks of drawing Santa coming down the chimney on the bottom of their paper bag chimney?

Sunday Funday

Trouble?  Well, for sure.  Best friends.

Momma went shopping and the boys got new hats.  I love the two photos up there and I truly was just trying to get a nice picture of my boys together when we went out for Sunday lunch at one of our favorite Sunday lunch spots... have been going there almost every Sunday since before Kekoa was born, in fact.  Anyway.  Fat chance.  That said.  This one is my favorite pictures.  It captures Kekoa just as he is... right now... at 10 and a half.  In full on laugh mode.  In it's purest form.

Have I mentioned I love my boys?  They make my world go 'round.  These two.

Can I Keep Them Forever?

Totally in love with my baby squirrels and the messes they leave me. Can I keep them forever?

Bubbles the elf stayed head first in the oranges for two days. Daddy must have intervened and even I can't find it. I'll post an elf on the shelf picture just as soon as I can.

But for now...4:45 am wake up before the alarm means I get a jump start on my week with my first two leg day workouts in a week in a long time. Rockin' the just rolled out of bed Shetland pony hair look this morning. But happy. Good Morning!

Orange Ya Glad

Orange ya glad I cleaned my countertops for this picture? Again. Hey... at least I'm consistent.

I got myself a bookstore date. Truly. This was his idea.  I'm a lucky, lucky Lani girl.

It looks like I'm whispering sweet nothings but I'm really threatening not to buy his stuff if he doesn't smile. That's messed up.

What a Way to Go

This is likely this tree's last fall.  It makes me sad.  When we moved here 17 years ago it was such a pretty young tree.  Then a couple of years ago, it just decided to die.  The few leaves it has left, though.  Wow.  They are on fire.  What a way to go.

#84 of #100gratefuldays:   Always extremely grateful this time of year for the street I live on.

And a rainy fall day might just call for an impromptu shopping trip to purchase a sweater dress I've been wanting since I saw it a couple of months ago.  Cute new clothes = Happy Lani Girl

Not Rushing It

#82 of #100gratefuldays: Thankful for an enjoyable, pony tail swingin' 6.2 mile run on a beautiful evening. And for modern phones that help translate schweaty into artsy. Heh. And for calenders made out of little boy handprints, bats on the wall, and for the stuffed animal wolf sitting on my countertop. Not rushing it. They could stay this age forever, if they want to.

Not So Enjoyable

#14 of #100gratefuldays: Thankful for butterfly and PacMan bandages. Today's pool visit was not so successful. Gavyn bit clean through his lip. Apparently it was all my fault for taking them to the pool. Gotta blame someone.Else. Lessons learned? 1) It's better to swim with goggles. 2) Cement walls are sneaky and don't move. 3) Teeth are sharp. 4) It's not as fun to jump off the diving board when you're worrying about losing a bandage and preoccupied if you're going to have to go to the doctor and get stitches or not. "The pool is just not so enjoyable when I'm thinking my bandage will come off." Gavyn's words. I love that he's eight and uses words like enjoyable rather than fun.

The Lazy King

She Hung the Moon

#8 of #100gratefuldays: Thankful for sugar and spice and everything nice... that's what little girl's are made of... Who's the luckiest woman in the world? Aunt Lani is. Got to hold my little "Pearl" tonight.

. Pretty sure she hung the moon.  Can you see it?
