I Wanna Go Back

TBT: Throwback to Super Bowl Sunday in 2010. Getting carried onto the field by these fellas... the year we watched the Super Bowl in Mexico on a beach and watched the Saints beat the Colts. The year we met the lovely Youngs from California.  I wanna go back!

Hmmmm.... I couldn't wait until Throwback Thursday...

Growing up is overrated.  Arrrrr....

A Little

Throwback Thursday: Christmas 2007 Elf Yourself... this little "gem" was brought back to my attention this morning. Life has changed in seven years.  A little.

1970 Somethin

Throwback Thursday: My earliest recollection of receiving gifts... not sure what year... mid-70s sometime...

Doing His Thing

Throwback Thursday: In honor of his half a century week, here's Craig a few years ago.

The first is Craig from his high school baseball days.  The second is Craig doing his thing in the 80s... post-college, I think.  As you can see, the picture didn't translate real well into digital media, but you get the idea.

#21 Got Burned

A little Throwback Thursday action... the football player I never got to watch. Heard lots of stories, though. Craig as #20 in high school and as #40 in college. Looks like defender #21 got burned in both cases.

That Dress

Throwback Thursday: Proof you can do anything in a dress.  Out for a Sunday afternoon ride with Dolly. Don't hate on that dress. Big flowers and poofy sleeves were all the rage back then. Oh... and white pantyhose. That's the dress I met First Lady Barbara Bush in when I was 17. This is a classic. Miss the days when going out for a horseback ride was the norm.

Tree Huggers

#31 of #100gratefuldays and Throwback Thursday all in one:

Thankful for lots of happy memories and good friends and for parents who taught me sign language from an early age so I could be fortunate enough to connect with this beautiful friend. Was fun to reconnect this summer. I love you sign. And if you can't tell... we're tree huggers.

That Purple Satin Jacket

Throw Back Thursday: Back to school, throw back style. That purple satin jacket was da bomb. I think it was right around the same time that jelly shoes were all the rage. And I was a pretty big fan of Garfield, too. We made back to school look GOOD! Sixth grade, maybe?

Old Summertime Memories

#11 of #100grateful days and "Throw Back Thursday": Thankful for a good childhood and growing up on a farm where riding horses in the summertime was a reality. To this day, I love the smell of horses and the warm, soft, silky feel of their skin. One of the things I miss about the summers of my youth.

Jealousy

Throwback Thursday: One of the first times I remember feeling that uncomfortable feeling called "jealousy". And feeling a little left out, too. Can you tell?  Isn't it crazy that all these years later, I can look at this picture and still remember how I was feeling there? My cousins knew how to play the piano and I didn't. Eight years of piano lessons under my belt now and they can still play better than me. But I can play.

Feeling Full

My sissy and I.

What a difference 32 years makes, huh? Not holding her anymore, but I am hugging her.

For the record... that wasn't our green van.... but that WAS our green Tupperware container.

National Siblings Day 2014

Throw Back Thursday AND National Siblings Day??!! Why not? First day of school. I can't believe how much my brother, Shawn, looks like Kekoa. And my brother, Ryan, looks a lot like Gavyn. I love how you can see the sunrise on the sides of our faces.  I  loved that pink jean jacket.  I wish I still had it.

My First School Bag

Throwback Thursday: First day of school a few years ago. I wish I had known then how lucky I was to have a Momma that could sew me my first school bag.  Time produces new perspective, for sure.  Would love to still have that bag.

Speaking of time and perspective...

I've had regrets, but experiencing something I deeply regret has taught me to appreciate the power and beauty of true mercy. I look at others with kinder eyes. I speak with more gentleness. I am more cautious and aware of myself. Only way to go is forward.  *brushes off knees, stands up straight, not looking back*

Feeling human, but thankful.

A Healthier Choice

Gavyn told Craig this morning, "Dad, I think your next job should be a teacher. I think that is a healthier choice." Love that kid.

Throwback Thursday: I kinda like this guy. Taking a look back at these pictures I took of my "officer" a few months back. Only six months left.  Crazy to think he will be officially retired.

Eyes ahead.  Goal is in sight.

Just a Swingin'

A few March's ago... swinging with Aunt Heidi.

This was from this past November - Thanksgiving 2013.  Kekoa's on the right.  Just a few changes.  Time marches on.

Guess the Year

A little Throwback Thursday fun.  Guess the year.
